  • Cafe Emunah

3558 N. Ocean Blvd., Fort Lauderdale Beaches

    954-561-6411

If you can get past the overwrought, New Agey pseudomysticism that infects Emunah (which means "faith"), you'll find a top-quality neighborhood café serving seafood and sushi. Everything on the menu is kosher, and most of that is organic. Enjoy an excellent array of Mediterranean and Caribbean-influenced sushi rolls. These contain ingredients like orange, mint, taramasalata, eggplant spread, cilantro, and pineapple along with sweet and melting yellow tail, white tuna, and salmon. The herbs in the garden salads are locally sourced; entrées are occasionally stunning - like Mystical Sea Bass served with creamy hummus, heirloom tomato and cured olive salad. Soups, made fresh daily, are equally inventive.

  • Master Cake Bakery

9924 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines Hollywood

    954-842-4819

By now, we're sure you've heard enough of us extolling the many virtues of the Pembroke Pines Master Cake Bakery owned by European-trained, Israeli-born pastry chef and second generation baker Mickey Grunberger, who opened the kosher bakery in 2013. The "cronut-like" doughnuts, or “dossants” as Grunberger likes to call them, are made from scratch daily using traditional French and Hungarian baking techniques. Although you won't find any other type of traditional American fried dough here, you can browse the bakery's display cases filled with fresh pastries, custom cakes, challah bread, danishes, rugelach -- and, yes, croissants.

  • Sara's

    3944 N. 46th Ave. Hollywood

    954-986-1770

A kosher and vegan heaven, Sara's is home of some downright satisfying, cruelty-free pizzas, subs, burgers, and sandwiches, including a sauerkraut-laden Reuben with faux-corned beef good enough to turn heads at any Jewish deli. It also offers hummus and falafel, stuffed cabbage, and mushroom-barley soup that all have two things in common: they're meat-free, and they're fantastic. Complimentary egg bread with entrée is a challah of a good time. Bagels and bread are baked fresh daily.
